Nominate Wichita Falls Athletes for New Hall of Fame Starting This Year
The WFISD has announced they're starting a Hall of Fame and they're looking for your help.
I'm actually quite surprised to learn that the WFISD does not already have a Hall of Fame, but better late than never. They plan to announce the inaugural class at the Legacy and Memorial Game on November 6th this year. Here is what you have to do.
How to Nominate for the the WFISD Hall of Fame
- Former Athlete
- Coach
- Contributor/Community Member
Those are the types of people the WFISD are looking for in this Hall of Fame. The first two are pretty self explanatory. The final one, for example, could be someone that was involved in media covering the WFISD teams or an alumni member that never played sports, but helps the teams whenever they can. You can nominate someone at the link here.
Prominent Members of WFISD Athletics Throughout the Years
Ed Neal should for sure get into the Hall of Fame at some point. Not only did he play for Wichita Falls High School, he also played seven seasons in the NFL. Most of his career was spent with the Green Bay Packers and in 1950 would be selected to the Pro Bowl.

David Nelson was team captain for the Rider High School back in the day and also won two national championships with the Florida Gators. He would also play in the NFL for a few seasons after his college career.

Didn't want to do all football for my choices, but wanted to give Hirshchi High School a shout out as well. Marcus Foster was a big player for the Huskies and got recruited to Kansas State. Marcus is still playing professional basketball right now. He's currently playing for a team in Greece.
