Jelly Roll is not one to hide his emotions in public, and he caused quite a stir when he took the stage to accept two major awards at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday night (April 1).

The rapper-turned-country singer had one of the most astonishing breakout years country music has seen in recent years, and it culminated in him winning Best New Artist Country and Best New Artist Pop at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2024.

"My mama always told me I had a face for radio, baby!" Jelly Roll exclaimed, triumphantly holding up his two trophies and smiling broadly as the crowd roared.

He shared a memory of singing songs in the car with his siblings when he was a child.

"I never would have dreamed I would be one of the voices coming through your radio," Jelly Roll marveled, adding, "and to be the Best New Country Artist and represent country music, and the Best New Pop Artist — you don't know what this means to a kid like me!"

"I was thinking about it," he continued, "What does it mean when a guy like me gets the opportunity to be the new pop artist of the year at iHeartRadio's awards? It means that God will always use the least likely messenger with the biggest message, every single time! You can take it to the bank, baby!"

The crowd roared even bigger at that and rose to its feet, and Jelly Roll amped up even more in fervor and volume as he exclaimed, "I love you, Jesus! And I love you, Bunnie, my wife," he said, thanking her for everything before addressing his daughter, Bailee Ann, who was watching at home.

The powerful moment was a highlight of the multi-genre ceremony, which also featured Jelly Roll performing a stripped-down version of "Save Me" with Lainey Wilson.

Jelly Roll will hit the road for his Beautifully Broken Tour beginning Aug. 27 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The trek runs through Oct. 27, when it wraps in Charlotte, N.C.
