Jerrod Niemann and his wife Morgan have divorced after four years of marriage. The couple split part way through 2018 with the divorce becoming final in December.

Nash Country Daily confirmed the news, sharing that Morgan Petek filed on June 18, 2018 citing “irreconcilable differences.” They married in October 2014 in Puerto Rico, at the time eschewing gifts in lieu of donations to his Free the Music charity. They don’t have any children together.

Petek has long been the inspiration for many of Niemann's love songs he says. Talking to Taste of Country in 2017 he shared how she influenced his performance of a ballad called "God Made a Woman," a song he didn't write. He also recalled a troubled time before getting married when she had moved overseas.

"'Only God Could Love You More' was about that very thing — sometimes you might drive each other crazy, sometimes you don't get along, but at the end of the day there's no one that's gonna love you more than me besides God," he said of a ballad from 2012. A song called "I'm All About You" from his Free the Music album is another inspired by her. The couple renewed their vows after just two-and-a-half years of marriage, in 2017.

Per NCD, Niemann pays his wife a $170,000 cash lump sum and neither party will pay alimony or spousal support. She also gets the Nashville house while he gets a family trust, which includes a different Nashville property. He also retains ownership of two LLCs related to his career and both get to keep their personal cars.
