Jimmie Allen took the Good Morning America stage on Thursday (March 14) to perform a powerful rendition of his song "21" from his debut album, Mercury Lane.

"Twenty-one / I can feel like a picture / Up on the hood of my truck with a sixer / Hangin' with the boys talkin' 'bout girls / Slow-mo watchin' this world go round and round this nowhere town / Somewhere between forever and young / Twenty-one, twenty-one," Allen sings in "21."

Jimmie Allen's Live RISERS Performance Is Irresistible

This marked Allen's first time on Good Morning America. Allen is also a first-time nominee at the upcoming 2019 ACM Awards in the New Male Artist of the Year category. He recently finished a stint as a supporting act on Kane Brown’s Live Forever Tour and made his debut performance at C2C, the U.K. and Ireland’s preeminent country music festival.

This summer, Allen will be hitting the road as the opening act on Chris Young’s Raised on Country Tour and Rascal Flatts’ Summer Playlist Tour, as well as performing on the CMA Music Fest Chevy Riverfront Stage in June.

Allen signed to BBR Music Group's Stoney Creek Records in August of 2017. His debut single, "Best Shot," climbed the charts and hit No. 1 on country radio for three weeks. He is the first black artist to launch his career with a No. 1 single on country radio.

Allen followed up his chart-topper with his latest single, “Make Me Want To” which was most added at country radio in its first week with 61 stations. Even though his primary genre is country, Mercury Lane offers hints of rock, R&B, and pop influences.
