Liam Hemsworth Releases Statement About Miley Cyrus Split
Liam Hemsworth has released an official statement for the first time since the announcement of his separation from Miley Cyrus.
Hemsworth posted a photo of a sunset to Instagram along with his statement on Monday (Aug. 12).
"Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," he writes, adding, "This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
The Zac Brown Band Instagram account left a comment on the post with three heart emojis.

Hemsworth has been otherwise tight-lipped about the split. Earlier this week, he told the Daily Mail Australia in passing, "You don't understand what it's like. I don't want to talk about it, mate."
Cyrus has been more forthcoming, leaving thoughtful Instagram posts with seemingly emotional captions, including photos from her recent vacation.
Cyrus vacationed in Italy last week with Brody Jenner's ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter. Cyrus and Carter were photographed kissing, as Entertainment Tonight reported on Friday (Aug. 9). Carter and Jenner announced their separation on Aug. 2, after less than a year of marriage.
Cyrus' representative shared a statement on her split with Hemsworth to multiple media outlets:
"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."
Cyrus and Hemsworth wed in a private ceremony December of 2018 after meeting on the set of The Last Song in 2009.
