Miranda Lambert performed her take on Loretta Lynn's "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin on Your Mind)" at Lynn's 87th birthday concert, Loretta Lynn: An All-Star Birthday Celebration Concert.

The concert took place at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Monday night (April 1). Lynn will be celebrating her 87th birthday on April 14, and to mark the occasion ahead of time, an all-star lineup of artists performed for Lynn, who sat on stage for a three-hour show.

"Thank you for inspiring me for all of the, um, advice, I guess you would, about when husbands piss you off a little bit," Lambert said with a laugh in introducing her song. "I'm gonna do one of those right now."

Lynn's classic gave the country icon her first No. 1 hit when she released it in 1966. Like so many of Lynn's best songs, it was inspired by her husband, Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn, who had a well-documented fondness for alcohol.

"And don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind / No don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind / Just stay out there on the town and see what you can find / 'Cause if you want that kind of love well you don't need none of mine / So don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind," Lambert sings in the clip above.

Lambert performed the song wearing a pink-fringed top. She kept looking over and singing directly to Lynn, who sat on the right side of the stage.

The country superstar came back out on stage at the end of the show, when all of the artists on the bill returned to the stage to sing alongside Lynn on "Coal Miner's Daughter."
