LISTEN: Miranda Lambert’s ‘Famous in a Small Town’ Gets a Lullaby Makeover for New ‘Rockabye Baby’ Compilation [Exclusive Premiere]
Miranda Lambert's upbeat 2007 single "Famous in a Small Town" has received a makeover. The song is one of a dozen hits from the country superstar that have been turned into lullabies for a new compilation from Rockabye Baby; press play above to listen.
Wooden blocks and a glockenspiel turn Lambert's gold-certified, Grammy-nominated Top 20 hit into a twinkling, soothing lullaby that will help send even the adults listening off to sleep. For this premiere, it's accompanied by a sweet video featuring a teddy bear and his parrot friend making their way through town, passing by plenty of buddies along the way.
Due out on Friday (June 28), Rockabye Baby's Lullaby Renditions of Miranda Lambert compilation features everything from Lambert's first Top 20 single, "Kerosene," to her most recent, "Tin Man," re-imagined as lullabies. Readers can hear the new renditions of "The House That Built Me" and "Gunpowder and Lead" below.
The group behind this new compilation, Rockabye Baby, has turned songs from dozens of popular artists -- everyone from Beyonce to Johnny Cash -- into lullabies. The company has released nearly 100 albums thus far.
"Creating lullaby renditions of Miranda Lambert’s music just felt right for Rockabye Baby. She’s authentic, has paid her dues, and is friggin’ talented," says Rockabye Baby founder Lisa Roth, a former nutritionist (and also the sister of Van Halen singer David Lee Roth). "She writes songs with great hooks and melodies that stick in your head, which helped make the process of translating her music into lullabies a smooth one. And personally speaking, I love that Miranda started the nonprofit MuttNation Foundation, which promotes adoption of shelter pets. So good."
