UPDATE:  According to KOAT in Albuquerque, police detained a person of interest early Wednesday afternoon.  The suspect, 32-year-old Tony Torrez, has confessed to the shooting.

Torrez has been charged with murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, assault with the intent to commit a violent felony, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, child abuse, child abuse resulting in death and tampering with evidence.  His bond has been set at $650,000, cash only.

ORIGINAL STORY:  Authorities in New Mexico have released the description of the suspect who reportedly shot a 4-year-old girl in the head during an altercation on I-40 in Albuquerque on Tuesday.

According the witnesses, the suspect is a male in his late 20s to early 30s, either white with a dark complexion or Hispanic, with an average build, short dark hair, and a goatee.  The suspect was driving what has been described as a newer maroon or dark red four-door Toyota sedan with tinted windows, a spoiler on the back, and a University of New Mexico Lobos sticker.

Witnesses reported seeing a red truck cutting off the Toyota on Interstate 40 whenever the Toyota attempted to pass.  The Toyota then pulled up along side the truck and opened fire, striking 4-year-old Lilly Garcia in the head.  Garcia's parents were unharmed in the attack, but Garcia died later in the hospital.  Lilly's mother Veronica issued a statement on the family's GoFundMe page for Lilly's funeral, asking for help in finding Lilly's killer,

I need to catch the individual who took my baby from me, her Dad and her brother.  I beg you, please please please share.
