Honoring the best in film and television, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced their nominees for the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards.

The last major awards before the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes are usually give you a taste of what to expect in terms of Oscar nominations and winners.  Unlike the Oscars, the Golden Globes have two different awards for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Actress, having one award in each category for dramas, and one award in each for musical or comedy.  ’12 Years A Slave’ and ‘American Hustle’ lead the movie pack with seven nominations each, with ’12 Years A Slave’ up for Best Picture – Drama and ‘American Hustle’ up for Best Picture – Musical or Comedy.  Iconic director Woody Allen has been confirmed to be the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment" during the awards ceremony next year.
