This article is a tough one. It truly warms my heart to see the pet owners in the video at the bottom of this article reunite with their pups. So many horrible stories have emerged in the days since the flood that I figured a feel-good, uplifting article would be just what the doctor ordered. And for me it was. Apparently, I needed a good cry.

Normally, a video like this would bring a little tear of joy to my eye. Nothing big, just a tiny speck of moisture that's easily dispatched with a flick of a finger. But dang, it hit different this time. You see, I just had to bury my 15-year-old best boy ever, last month. That's Billy on the right, next to his sister Cricket, in the picture below.

Dogs Reunited with Owners After Texas Floods

Billy was my "man's best friend." He was that dog. Cricket loves everybody. If I have people over at the house, she has to give equal time to everyone. She's very social, and everyone loves her.

Billy was my guy, though. He only wanted to be with me. He would have separation anxiety so bad, it was hard to ever leave him with anyone if I wanted to go out of town.

I miss him very much.

So yeah, this video had me balling. Now it's your turn. Sorry, not sorry. 🐾❤️
