That Pistol Annies Album Is Coming in the Fall, Miranda Lambert Assures
If you ask Miranda Lambert, new Pistol Annies music is coming this fall.
In an interview with Time, Lambert reveals that the trio are plotting a fall release of an album packed with honest storytelling.
"I think it's the best writing we’ve ever done," she admits. "We’ve lived a lot of life since our last record. I think it’s three girls telling our story very bravely."

Lambert is obviously a superstar on her own, but says that working with her Annies partners, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe, is liberating. "Something about being together makes us a force to be reckoned with," she says. "We can get more raw and rugged than we would alone."
Fans have been eager for new music since Lambert shared with Billboard in 2017 that the trio was reuniting and putting a project together. After hinting at multiple writing sessions and joining together on stage for surprise performances throughout the year, Presley confirmed in a July of 2018 interview with the Boot that the album had been completed, but didn't share a title or release date at the time.
Lambert continues to recognize a lack of female perspective in country music, especially on the radio, noting that when she and fellow trailblazer Carrie Underwood emerged on the scene in the mid-2000s there was more variety.
"Women want to hear women, because we want to know we’re not alone in all of our issues, you know? I mean, I do. I want to feel like someone’s telling my story," she says, adding that she's finally beginning to see more people embracing women's stories. "I have always been pretty honest, in my music and with my fans, about who I am: being flawed, a regular girl with regular problems. I’ve made a career based on telling the truth."
Lambert continues to share her truth while on the road with Little Big Town on the 2018 Bandwagon Tour, which wraps up on Aug. 25 in Chicago. She's also set for an artist-in-residence at the Country Music Hall of Fame with two shows in September.
