In October, country newcomer Riley Green will head out on the road with Jon Pardi for Pardi's Heartache Medication Tour. The "There Was This Girl" singer is ready for a good time — but, he admits, it's probably good both he and Pardi are a bit older and wiser than they could have been.

"I'm just glad we didn't meet, like, five years ago, because I don't know about him, but I was certainly wilder back then, and I could see him having a wild side, for sure," Green tells Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul. Green says he and Pardi have only hung out at industry events, but he "can tell that me and him will get along."

As for those wild days so many years ago, Green confesses he's not sure if he's mellowed out because he's getting older or because "I'm just wore out."

"I used to play shows for fun — you know, they'd pay me every once in a while, but I played just 'cause I enjoyed it and it was just a big party," he recalls. Now, late nights are losing out to early mornings as his career is taking off.

"There's no break in this right now," says Green, who will spend his summer on tour with Brad Paisley. "It's hard to stop and really appreciate it, but it's been a really amazing year."

The Heartache Medication Tour is scheduled to begin on Oct. 1 in Nashville.
