Spectacular Twin Waterspouts Appear in Texas Yesterday
I am a total sucker for a really cool-looking weather clip, and the one at the bottom of this article is just absolutely gorgeous. The National Weather Service reported two waterspouts, including the one in the video below, which was in the Bacliff area.
NWS Reports Two Waterspouts in Galveston County Near Bacliff
People living near Galveston Bay got quite a show Saturday morning when two waterspouts formed off the coast. The National Weather Service confirmed the spinning columns of air and water were spotted near San Leon and Bacliff. Video from KHOU 11 viewer Elaine Marak shows the reported waterspout in the Bacliff area. It looks like a huge, white worm stretching all the way from the ocean to the clouds.

Waterspouts look like tornadoes over the water, but they usually don’t last very long. They can still be dangerous if boats or people get too close, though in this case, there were no reports of injuries or damage.
Experts say the Gulf of Mexico often has the right conditions for waterspouts, especially during stormy weather. For locals, it was just another reminder that the Texas sky can switch from calm to chaos in no time, and I'm here for it. Keep those phones handy, record anything cool, and post it to social media where I can see it, please!
