Yes, Texans Drive Farm Equipment Through Sonic Drive Ins
Sonic Drive-In was the place to be in the little rural Texas town I grew up in. That's where you would go hang out once you turned sixteen and got that coveted driver's license.
That's right, kids, back in my day, teenagers actually wanted to drive. We couldn't wait to get that little piece of paper that said we were now adult enough to pilot a ton of metal and plastic anywhere our little hearts desired. We didn't have our own phones; in fact, most families only had one phone in the kitchen that everybody had to take turns using, and mom usually had the monopoly on that thing for hours.
So, we couldn't wait to get out of the house and go visit our friends, and many times that went down at Sonic. However, some of the kids who didn't have a license yet would often drive farm equipment up there. That's why I love the video at the bottom of this article so much, it reminds me of home when I was younger.
Tractor Spotted at Sonic Drive-Thru in Texas
Sometimes, there would be more tractors and four-wheelers at the stalls than regular vehicles. Seriously, I remember driving by our Sonic one day, and it was packed, yet there was not one vehicle with a license plate. It was all John Deere and Kawasaki as far as the eye could see.

So while it might get laughs online, a tractor in a Sonic drive-thru is more than just a quirky moment. It’s a glimpse into how people in rural Texas live day to day, balancing work and convenience in ways that outsiders might never expect.
