Yes, you read that right. A kangaroo. In Texas.

Overgrown Great Dane?

The bizarre incident began when a resident called 911 from his car when he noticed something unusual hopping around. Confused and more than a little startled, Joe’s wife insisted it was just a large dog, maybe an overgrown Great Dane. But as the creature continued to hop rather than run, the realization hit them: this was no ordinary pet.

Visions of Kangaroos

The couple calmly dialed 911, trying to explain to the dispatcher that they weren’t going crazy and that there was indeed a kangaroo bouncing down their street. The 911 operator, probably used to handling all sorts of weird calls, sent officers out to investigate, probably expecting a prank or maybe just a very energetic dog.

Escaped From Nearby Farm

When the officers arrived, they were just as stunned as Joe and his wife. There it was—a full-fledged kangaroo, casually hopping along as if it belonged there. Eventually, the officers managed to "apprehend" the kangaroo, which was surprisingly cooperative, almost like it knew the whole thing was just as absurd as everyone else did. It turns out, the kangaroo was an escaped pet from a nearby farm, not some rogue Aussie invader looking to settle down in the Lone Star State.
