Houston, Texas—On a quiet day at 13003 Tomball Parkway, the unassuming hum of shoppers was interrupted by the wild spectacle of a man making a high-speed getaway—or as high-speed as you can manage with a shopping cart full of TVs.

Captured on video which you can watch by scrolling down to the bottom of this article, this rascal brazenly fled Harris County Precinct One deputies, pushing his cart stacked with flat screens as if it were a Black Friday shopping haul. The footage, now making rounds on social media, shows the thief running down the road while pushing his cart of televisions.

Deputies arrived on the scene just in time to witness the suspect’s unorthodox escape plan. As soon as he noticed the cops, he ditched the goods and made a clean run straight into a huge patch of shrubs and other foliage.

At this point, another man grabs the shopping cart full of TVs. Given his red attire, we can assume this man works for Target.

For Harris County law enforcement, this isn’t just a bizarre story; it’s part of a troubling pattern. Retail theft has surged in recent months, and with it, the stakes for both businesses and officers trying to curb the problem.
