Texas Suspect Fights Police Robot
A parole violation in East Lubbock could earn you a visit from Robocop.
It's not that simple, but you can skip the explanation and go straight to the video by scrolling to the bottom of this article. Let's get into it!
Bomb Squad Blanket Bingo
The police tracked 39-year-old Felix De la Rosa to the hotel due to a parole violation. Allegedly, De la Rosa opened fire on the officers. That's when they called the Lubbock County SWAT unit, which deployed their bomb squad robot. It was now man versus machine. De la Rosa's first move was to throw a blanket over his foe.
Bulletproof
When the blanket failed to vanquish his opponent, this man pulled out his piece and fired a round point blank at the Terminator. It did nothing.
The robot began spraying tear gas into the tiny hotel room. At this point, De la Rosa jumps out of the window to avoid the gas.
As the man tried to stand up from his leap through the window, the robot charged forward and mashed the man against the wall where he stayed until the flesh and bone cops showed up to arrest him.
Moral of the story? If you’re on the run in Texas, maybe reconsider your choice of opponents. Because the next time you look over your shoulder, it might not be a person chasing you—it might just be a robot. And as this suspect learned the hard way, you can't outsmart a machine.
