YMCA of Wichita Falls Offering Free Class for Cancer Survivors
If you or anyone you know has survived a bout with cancer you know how physically debilitating the disease and treatment can be. That's why the YMCA of Wichita Falls is offering a free 12 week class to help people get strong again.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA features a specially trained LIVESTRONG instructor and customizes a plan for each participant to help them get back into fitness and health in spirit, mind and body.
The program is designed for people 18 and older who are undergoing or have completed their cancer treatment and each participant must provide a medical release from an authorized healthcare provider.
Interested in the class but don't have a current YMCA membership? No worries. This free class includes a complimentary YMCA membership for the duration of the program and gives participants full access to YMCA facilities.
Some of the LIVESTRONG program goals include improving energy levels and self-esteem, rebuilding muscular strength and endurance, improved flexibility and balance, improved circulation and functional ability to complete everyday tasks, improved body image and more.
The program runs from Monday, September 9th, through Thursday, December 5th and a few openings are still available. To learn more contact Amanda Coyle at livestrong@ymcawf.org or call the Downtown YMCA at 940-322-7816.
