Alisan Porter's new song, "Never Could," finds her experiencing a love that awakens a newfound sense of completion. "Never Could" is a jaunty, acoustic-based song that the winner of Season 10 of The Voice is premiering exclusively with Taste of Country.

"You love me like a single raindrop melting away the snow / You hold me like a hurricane, wrapped up in your arms I can't let go / Is this even real, why does it feel so damn good? / You love me like I never could," Porter sings over an energetic track that mixes an acoustic bed with jangly electric guitars for a rootsy country-rock feel.

"'Never Could' is the story of finding your one true soulmate," Porter tells us. "It’s a song about understanding love in a completely different way than you're used to. It’s a personal journey of learning to love yourself to the fullest by watching someone else love you to their absolute core. Through this process you'll recognize qualities about yourself that you never realized were lovable before."

Porter is a former child star who launched her entertainment career with roles in movies including Parenthood and Curly Sue. She switched gears to music and got all four judges on The Voice to turn their chairs during her blind audition for the show in 2016, ultimately going on to win Season 10 of the iconic reality television singing competition as a member of Christina Aguilera's team. She enlisted Grammy award-winning producer Matt Rollings to produce her upcoming album, Pink Cloud, working with the same team as she did on her 2014 album Who We Are.

“This album is the bible of everything I’ve done, it has all accumulated to this moment," Porter says. "It’s about truly understanding what it means to be in a partnership, but also really knowing who you are within a relationship.”

"Never Could" is set for release on Friday (March 29). For more information about Alisan Porter, visit her official website, or follow her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
