I have written numerous articles over the years about strange horse sightings in Texas. Usually, they fall into two categories. Sometimes, it is a horse or several horses running down a road with no saddle or rider, while a group of folks, usually including law enforcement, run after the beasts while trying to corral them. Other times, it is a person riding a horse in an unusual location, like a bar.

Horse in Saddle Escapes Near Texas McDonalds

But this is a whole new situation. This is the first video I have written about where a horse, wearing full tack including a saddle, was spotted running around the city. Did his owner tie him up to a post while he went into McDonald's for a quick Fillet-O-Fish?

Maybe he was mad that the ice cream machine was broken, as per usual. By the way, that ice cream machine is never broken; it's just a huge pain in the butt to operate. So they just tell you it's broken. I used to do that when I was a bartender, when someone would order a drink that required me to use a blender. That thing was always "broken" on my shift. But I digress.

While the situation gave people a good laugh and a great story to post online, but it could have gone much worse. If you’re responsible for an animal, you have to keep it secure. A loose horse in a busy parking lot could’ve gone badly if the animal had panicked or run into traffic.
