Have You Ever Heard The Original Version Of ‘Oklahoma Breakdown?’
Stoney Larue is in Wichita Falls this weekend for Falls Fest and that got me thinking about some of my favorite Stoney songs. We all love 'One Chord Song,' 'Velvet,' 'Down In Flames,' and many many more. There's one song though that seems to transcend the rest. When a jukebox starts playing 'Oklahoma Breakdown' it seems like everyone can find something to like about that song. It's definitely one I'm looking forward to hearing again on Saturday night.
What many people may not know though, is that 'Oklahoma Breakdown' wasn't originally a Stoney Larue song. We've talked before about songs recorded by other artist. It's a normal part of the music business. Well, this song was originally not even a country song. Originally a band out of Norman (who are good friends with Stoney) wrote and recorded the song. That band was the Hosty Duo and here is their original version.
