Wichita Falls Not the Only Military Base That Had Issues Yesterday
Yesterday the Missile Gate entrance at Sheppard Air Force Base was closed due to an 'ongoing incident under investigation'.
In case you missed it yesterday around 10AM, Sheppard Air Force Base released the following statement.
Around two hours later, the base gave the all clear that the Missile Gate entrance was all good. What everyone wants to know today is, what happened? Some outlets are reporting that a laundry truck was allegedly filled with explosives. I do not know how credible that report is from the Express News, but you can read it here if you would like. A credible source for military news is Stars and Stripes, who are not reporting anything about an explosive truck, however Wichita Falls was not the only major incident yesterday.
Tampa, Florida Air Force Base Went Into Lockdown on Wednesday Due to Threats
Over in Tampa, MacDill Air Force Base released the following statement about a threat made against their base. This is just days after this particular base had a suspicious package on their property that was being investigated by the FBI.
FBI Update on Suspicious Package at Tampa Air Force Base
The FBI's field screening identified possible energetic materials on the package. That is the most recent update we have on the incident in Tampa. We will have to wait and see officially what went down on Wednesday in Wichita Falls once an official statement is given. You can follow Sheppard Air Force Base here for updates on what's happening daily at the base.
