Lauren Alaina Explores Deeply Personal Emotions in ‘Doin’ Fine’ Video
Any song that contains lyrics such as "I fell on my knees and prayed like hell" and "I guess you can't be free without a fight" is bound to demand a video that lives up to such deep sentiments. Lauren Alaina's "Doin' Fine" video does just that, complementing her set of difficult declarations with visuals such as pouring rain, shattered glass and flickering lights.
“When a really big life changing event takes place, you feel a flood of emotions,” Alaina explains of the intense video. “Some days you cry. Some days you’re angry and some days you’re happy. It was really important to me to use the three and a half minutes of the video to share all of the emotions I felt while watching my parents go through a divorce, seeing my dad through rehab, and my adjusting to a new life in Nashville."
"Life is full of unpredictability, and so are we. It’s okay to not be okay all of the time, but we have to get to a place where we are ‘Doin’ Fine.’”
“Doin’ Fine” follows the success of Alaina's first No. 1 smash hit, “Road Less Traveled.” Alaina accolades include earning MusicRow’s Breakthrough Artist Writer of the Year award and CMT’s Breakthrough Video of the Year award for “Road Less Traveled.” She was also just nominated for her first CMA Award in the Best New Artist category. Alaina recently joined Luke Bryan on tour and this fall plans to hit the road for a cross-country Canadian jaunt.
