
Loose Cargo on Texas Roads Creates Safety Hazards
Normally, I'm all for everybody just minding their own business. Whether it's someone running a red light or parking illegally, if it doesn't affect anyone else, live and let live, I say.
But man, driving down the highway while hauling gravel in an uncovered flatbed is just downright evil. And illegal, by the way.
Unsecured Loads Causing Windshield Damage in Texas
Unsecured cargo is one of those small acts of carelessness that can have big consequences. A single piece of debris flying off a truck can cause accidents, damage windshields, and, in the worst cases, lead to serious injuries or fatalities. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, drivers are legally required to secure any items they transport. Failure to do so can result in fines or worse if it leads to a crash.

But beyond the legal risks, there’s a cultural one too. Texans pride themselves on being courteous, responsible, and neighborly on the road. Failing to secure cargo doesn’t just break the law. It also lets everyone else know that there is a huge jackass on the road to stay clear!
