Frustrated Man Moves Useless Traffic Cones in Texas
I assume that the actions taken by the man in the video at the bottom of this article are illegal, but dang, I've always wanted to do that! I cannot tell you how many times I've driven by construction cones every day with no workers in sight.
Do they put those things out there a month ahead of time so people will get used to them or something? Or how about when they have ten miles of the highway coned off into one lane, but they are only working on a 400-yard stretch?
Texas Driver Pushes Aside Apparently Useless Cones
Look, I realize construction is a thankless job, but from having worked as the Public Information Officer for the City of Wichita Falls Municipal Government for many years, I'll tell you that many city employees, including street maintenance folks, are just like the rest of us when it comes to their jobs. We all like to take shortcuts.

And those shortcuts could very well manifest as putting cones out days before you need them because it will be easier for you, citizen drivers be damned! I'm not saying that's what happened with the cones in the video below, but it is a possibility. If that is the case, I have no problem with this rascal moving the cones. The street workers can come and move them back when they actually get to working on that area.
