Maren Morris, never averse to genre-bending exercises, announced out of nowhere on Thursday (Oct. 3) her plans of dropping a collaboration with Irish musician Hozier, best known for his 2013 hit "Take Me to Church." Morris and Hozier both posted one day earlier a video of Hozier acoustically working on her single "The Bones," which Morris termed "Absolutely stunning."

The new collaboration has both singers playfully dancing with each other's vocals, showing off both of their respective singing strengths, but does not alter the structure of the original much if at all, keeping a sunny vibe to the composition.

"The Bones" is Morris' second single from Girl, her sophomore album, released in March, and it serves as a sweet love song celebrating the foundations of a relationship. The video for the single shows hazy, vintage-filtered shots of Morris and singer-songwriter husband Ryan Hurd in a testament to the strength of their marriage. The project's first single, its title track, recently became Morris' second career No. 1 song.

Conversely, Hozier's most famous track, "Take Me to Church," a globally charting single, gained attention for its music video which portrayed violent homophobic backlash to a same-sex relationship.
