Watch: Police Officer in Texas Uses Taser on Fleeing Driver
‘Don’t Do It Again!’: Wanted Driver Tased By Texas Cop After Running From Traffic Stop.
The video at the bottom of this article is taken from a Houston police officer's body camera from a stop on August 17.
The video comes to us from the Law&Crime Network, but they've chosen to edit out certain parts. Let's break down the video.
High-Speed Drama Unfolds
It all started on a seemingly ordinary day when a routine traffic stop turned into a scene straight out of an action movie. Dashcam footage captured the heart-pounding moment when a Texas police officer had to think on his feet as a driver attempted to flee the scene. The officer fired his weapon once he got out of the car, but Law&Crime Network edited that part out.
What did I do?
As the officer corners the man, he starts asking "What did I do?" The officer repeatedly tells the man to get on the ground.
Unclear Instructions
The officer then says "Get up," and pauses for a beat before continuing with "And see what happens." I know it's extremely hard to be a police officer, but one thing you absolutely have to do right is give concise and easily followable commands when you have a weapon pointed at somebody. Not the best way to de-escalate the situation, brutha.
Why is it edited out?
This video jumps from the part where the officer gives unclear directions, to the part where he's already tased the man because "he tried to get away."
Come on Law&Crime Network, you have to show the whole thing or it looks suspicious. Do better!
