Steak ‘n Shake and Other Restaurants Opening in Clay County

The popular fast food chain Steak 'n Shake is coming to North Texas as part of a new travel center opening up.

Henrietta economic development director Rick Langford told KFDX that early Friday morning the foundation would be poured for a new travel center off the 287 that will include the Steak 'n Shake, a Texas Best Smokehouse, a convenience store, and two other restaurants.

Founded in 1934, Steak 'n Shake is known for hand-dipped milkshakes and their signature "steakburger", called so since their burgers were originally comprised of meat from T-bone, sirloin, and round steaks. The predominately Midwest and southern located chain has expanded to nearly 550 locations across America, Europe, and the Middle East.
