Texoma School District Gets Perfect Score from Texas Education Agency
Time to celebrate at these schools because you can't do better than a perfect score.
What is the Financial Integrity Rating?
Since 2001, the Texas Education Agency does a financial rating for school districts throughout our state. The point of this rating is to ensure that Texas public schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and that they improve these practices. The system is designed to encourage Texas public schools to better manage their financial resources to provide the maximum allocation possible for direct instructional purposes.
Congratulations to the Burkburnett Independent School District
Not only did Burkburnett get an A rating for their school district, they got a perfect 100! This means the district has met all the financial standards and criteria, proving exceptional financial management and transparency with their constituents. The good news is that many of the districts in Texas did receive an A rating, however getting a perfect score is not easy.
For instance the Wichita Falls ISD also received an A rating in the 2023 report, but their score came in at a 94. If you would like to see what your child's school district score is. All info is available on the Texas Education website. According to this year's report, only 1% of Texas school districts actually failed. Eight school districts and three charter schools sadly got a big F.
The good news is that this report shows exactly how you can improve your score for next year. Apparently school districts need to receive at least a score of 70 or they could face some consequences.
