The Social Security Administration released a list of the top one hundred most popular baby names for 2024, and there is a really crazy coincidence that we are going to get to in a bit, but first, an observation. What I love about most of the names on the list is that they are still spelled traditionally. I cannot stand all the weird spellings narcissist parents are bestowing on their children in some sort of weird gesture that they think will make their kid stand out more. Like spelling Brittany "Britneigh." Get out of here with that nonsense!

But the wildest part of the list has to do with a beloved sports figure. I'm talking about Luka Doncic. Of course, we are going to see a bunch of baby boys' named after him do to his huge popularity here in Texas before he was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year. But here is the wild part. If you scan down the list of the top one hundred baby names for males in 2024, the name Luka lands at the 77th spot. For those who don't know, 77 is Luka's jersey number. That is such a wild coincidence.
