On Monday, January 20, the city is closing all its offices to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day. That means some regular stuff, like trash pickup, will be a little different for the week.

Here’s how it’s changing:

  • If your trash usually gets picked up on Monday, it’ll happen on Tuesday, January 21, instead.
  • If Tuesday is your normal trash day, it’ll move to Wednesday, January 22.
  • By Thursday, January 23, everything goes back to normal, so no changes for that day.

Also, if your family uses the curbside organic recycling service, that won’t happen on Wednesday this week. Plus, both the Transfer Station and the Landfill will be closed on Monday. So, don’t plan on dropping off any big items that day.

If you’ve got any questions or something doesn’t seem clear, you can always call the Sanitation Department at (940) 761-7977. They’ll be happy to help.

It’s all about making sure the city can still honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while keeping things running smoothly. Just remember to take your trash out on the right day so you don’t miss pickup.
