Some women are born for glory. Such is the case of an Alaskan woman who saved her dog from a bear attack last week by punching the bear in the face.

Brook Collins said she saw the bear hunched over her dachshund and biting the neck of the small dog. In response, Collins ran screaming toward the bear. When she reached the massive animal, she punched it in the snout, causing it to become startled and sending it away.

Bears are common in Alaska, but chances are that punching one in the face isn’t something that residents normally do.

Since the rescue, Collins has been keeping her pet mostly indoors and tending to the minor wounds it suffered.

I have to hand it to this woman, she really came through for her pet. I don’t know that I’d have the guts to stand up to a bear, given the fact that it could not only punch ME in the face, but shred my entire face OFF. Lucky for Collins, she won this round.
