Every girl deserves to feel like Cinderella when she goes to the prom. But just like Cinderella, not every girl can afford a beautiful prom dress for just one occasion.

That's where Cinderella's Closet comes in. A ministry of the First Baptist Church in Holliday, Texas, Cinderella's Closet makes beautiful formal wear available free of charge for their prom or other formal events.

The Closet functions much like a library  but instead of checking out books, girls can check out dresses at no charge. Once the event for the dress is over she is asked to return the garment to Cinderella's Closet for someone else to use. This all started as a Girl Scouts Gold Award Project by Emily Jenkins back in 2017 and continues to grow with more than 2,000 dresses available to choose from today.

To obtain a gown, a girl must attend the event this Saturday, February 22nd, in the Family Life Center / Gymnasium of the First Baptist Church in Holliday. The church is at 403 South College Avenue, and the event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The young lady obtaining the gown must be present at the dress checkout and must live within 75 miles of Holliday, Texas.

Since Cinderella's Closet has begun the non-return rate has been less than 4%. This enables the Closet to continue providing gowns and dresses to girls who might otherwise not have the opportunity to feel like Cinderella at the ball.

If you have any questions or have a gown you no longer need and would like to donate it, you can message them from the Cinderella's Closet Facebook page or call Sherry at 918-520-8165.
