Every first and third Tuesday of the month, the City of Wichita Falls government has a city council meeting that's open to the public. You can watch as city leaders discuss and vote on new laws and ordinances.
Citizens can also sign up to speak at the end of the meeting, where they can rant or rave for three minutes about city services, personal, or whatever. You can literally recite the alphabet; it's your time.

One of the coolest things they do at these meetings is read proclamations and give presentations to deserving citizens and businesses in the community. They can pretty much be about anything. Do you want to recognize your students for something outstanding they did? How about a proclamation? Is your business celebrating a milestone? Get yourself a dang ol' proclamation. Did your nephew save his grandmother from a pack of rabid groundhogs? Get that rascal a proc!

All you need to do for your very own proclamation is fill out this form on the city's website. Now look, the mayor still has to approve it, because he's not about to be up there during the meeting reading about your fake proclamation claiming you're the smartest man in the universe. They have to be real.
Anyways, here are the photos from this week's proclamation recipients. Enjoy!
