Keep Scrolling to Get all the Details on the 2028 Olympics in OKC

It's not unusual for the Olympics to have games outside of it's host city. For instance the Olympics in Paris this year had to have some events in Tahiti. Not a lot of surf sites in Paris, so Tahiti was made a substitute. That is what is happening in the 2028 Olympics when the games go to Los Angeles, California. Oklahoma City will be welcoming athletes in three major sports.

Softball Coming to Oklahoma City in 2028

The first sport is softball. According to the Olympic committee, the biggest venue they have in the Los Angeles area for softball would be the UCLA field which can hold 1,300 people. This is not enough, so why not host it at the home for the NCAA Women's College World Series? Devon Park in Oklahoma City has been the host stadium for the Softball Final since 1997 and can hold 13,000 people. That's not all Oklahoma City is getting in 2028.

Slalom and Kayak Cross Coming to Oklahoma City in 2028

Many of the Olympic athletes that competed in rafting at the Olympics actually trained at McClendon Whitewater Center in Oklahoma City. Once again, Los Angeles did not want to build the proper facilities for this so they will be held in Oklahoma City. Please note, canoeing events will be at Marine Stadium in Long Beach, California.

Obviously Los Angeles will get a lot of the attention in 2028, but if you want to see some Olympic competition, it's just a few hours away in a few years.
