27 Country Songs That Spent the Most Weeks at No. 1

The Billboard Country Airplay chart comes out weekly, and it has since 1990. It lists the 60 most listened to country songs played on more than 150 country radio stations across the U.S.

The first ever chart-topping hit that Billboard recognized was "Nobody's Home," by Clint Black. That song spent three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 1990.

Currently, Nate Smith's "World on Fire" is No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart for its ninth week. That puts the country newcomer in the top tier company of country artists and weeks spent on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Far more artists have spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Fifteen artists have achieved the honorable six-week No. 1 stay, dating from 1997 all the way to 2023.

Three country artists — one current and two older — have been lucky enough to reach a coveted eight weeks at No.1, but there is only one artist in the history of the Billboard Country Airplay chart that has achieved the top tier of weeks at the top of the chart; that is, 10 weeks at No. 1.
