Why Litter?

Look, I'm no litterbug. I'll carry trash around in my pocket all day long until I find a trashcan. I've never understood people who just throw their crap on the ground. Do they not care to have a pretty-looking city?

I had a friend once throw his cigarette butt on the ground in the middle of the street I lived on when there was literally a trash can next to him. I got on to him for it, and he told me he didn't care about the environment. I asked him if he threw trash on the ground at his house. He said no. I asked him if he threw trash down in his yard, and he said no. I also found out through questioning that he liked his street, and his neighborhood to look nice so that property values would stay high.

"SO WHY WOULD YOU LITTER ON MY STREET, YOU JACKASS!" was my reply. He got the point, I think.

I want all of Texas to look nice. Is that crazy?
