Preemptive Pepper Spray by Texas Cop Ends Potential Fight
When in doubt, pepper it out!
As is tradition, we're breaking down the video at the bottom of this article with no context whatsoever.
Was the pepper spraying justified? Did race have anything to do with it? I don't know, I wasn't there. What I do know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is I love to watch videos of people misbehaving. Let's get down to the nitty-gritty!
The Tension Mounts
Our scene, as it almost always does, opens right smack dab in the middle of the action. Two shirtless rascals are squaring off in the middle of a street in Austin Texas, as a lady rascal stands between them seemingly attempting to squash the impending brawl.
Meet Officer Cool Under Pressure
Enter two cops, stage right. The rascal on the right immediately puts his hands down, turns his back to his foe, and walks away. The rascal on the left continues to charge and flex.
A Swift and Calculated Move
Wasting no time, the cop in front pulls out his pepper spray and discharges it all over the advancing fellow's mug. He covers his face and walks away, with the altercation seemingly over.
Peace Restored
Some people in the comments argue that the cops only looked at the guy whom they pepper-sprayed because he is black. I'm not saying that's what happened or didn't happen, but the other guy, whose race I'm unsure of, definitely dropped his hands and walked away, whereas the other guy kept on with being aggressive.
I just like how no shots were fired, and no one was Tasered. Both of those can end up badly hurting or killing someone. With pepper spray, it just stings really badly for a while. I would have been fine with the cops pepper-spraying both dudes. That should really be standard procedure. If you see two guys in fighting stances, light 'em both up!
Check out the video for yourself below and let us know what you think in he comments. Were the cops racially motivated, or did they do the right thing and spray the guy who was still being aggressive?
